MBI ( M・B・I, エムビーアイ, Emu Bī A), standing for Mid Bio Informatics, is a powerful conglomerate founded by Minaka Hiroto, with the company's main headquarters based in Teito Tower (帝都塔, Teitō-tō) and many of its employees serving as the overseers and enforcers of the Sekirei Plan. With the over-technology ("Regalia" Kanji used for this[1]) found in the alien ship on Kamikura Island in 1999 by himself and Takami, Minaka built up MBI as an international pharmaceutical company. Soon after this feat was accomplished, MBI became an economic, technological and medical juggernaut, controlling and connecting the world via every field. [2]
MBI has enough power and influence to take control of a massive city like Tokyo/Shinto Teito, effortlessly buy out and assimilate other companies, and employ and equip a standing company army. Thanks in large part to the fateful discovery of one of the eight Sekirei spaceships known to have crash-landed on Earth in the past, MBI has been shown contending with, overpowering, intimidating, and outmanoeuvring the militaries, special forces, and intelligence agencies of major world powers on multiple occasions, effectively making it a major world power of its own, separate from Japan, Minaka and Takami's home country.[3][4]
